Weekend deals: Samsung Galaxy S24 series falls below pre-order prices
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A typical pre-order perk for Galaxy S pre-orders is a free storage upgrade and this year it even lasted into the first weeks of sale. But then it came to an end and you had to pay full price for extra storage. Well, not anymore – the S24 series is discounted to below the pre-order prices.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra starts at $1,150 for the 12/256GB model. That wasn’t part of the pre-order, of course, but it is the cheapest way to get the new Ultra. The 12/512GB model is $1,270 (this was $1,300 during the pre-order).

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S24+ matches the Ultra with 12GB of RAM and a QHD+ display, but it misses out on the top of the line camera setup. Still, the base model is just $850 – that’s $300 less than the equivalent Ultra. The upgrade to 512GB storage costs $120.

Samsung Galaxy S24+

The vanilla Samsung Galaxy S24 was a relatively minor upgrade over its predecessor. Its base model starts at 128GB storage (half what it siblings have) and it only has 8GB of RAM. The display is still FHD+. That said, it’s the smallest new phone that Samsung sells (flagship or otherwise) and one of the smallest Android flagships in general.

The S24 now starts at $700, but we’d spend the extra $60 to get 256GB storage – you will be glad you did 7 years from now (which is how long the S24-series will be supported). Check out our Galaxy S24 vs. S24+ comparison for more on why you should pick one or the other.

But if you’re going for the cheaper 8/128GB S24, consider the Samsung Galaxy S23 – it costs $100 less for the same RAM and storage. And it has the same screen resolution, though the S24 did get an LTPO panel. We would recommend the newer model, however, since the $100 you save now will shrink quickly as the S23 support window is shorter (4 OS updates and 5 years of patches).

Meanwhile, Samsung US is running a daily deal with up to $720 enhanced trade-in credit for the Galaxy Z Flip5 (the starting price is $1,000). Again, this is a daily deal for Saturday – if you’re reading this on Sunday, the trade-in credit is capped at $600.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is part of a week-long deal instead, so you have the weekend to mull it over. You can get up to $800 trade-in credit (price before the credit starts at $1,800).

Also this week, carrier offers for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and S24+ come with up to $1,000 trade-in credit and $100 and $50 Samsung Credit, respectively.

You can also grab a Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic with a $70 discount. If you’re looking for the vanilla Galaxy Watch6 instead, you can find a discount from the Samsung Shop app – $50 off the Bluetooth model and $80 off the LTE one.

A few months ago Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Book4 series with the new Intel Core Ultra processors. The previous generation is still quite capable and, right now, it’s quite cheap too.

The Samsung Galaxy Book3 has an Intel Core i5 1335U or an i7 1355U, the 15.6” display is a 1080p LCD. The laptop has two USB-C ports and two USB-A 3.2, an HDMI port, headphone jack and a microSD slot. The Book3 tips the scales at 3.53lb.

The pricier Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro comes in 14” and 16” versions, this is the 14” one. It has an AMOLED display with 2,880 x 1,800px resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate. This model is powered by the Intel Core i5 1340P or the i7 1360P. It has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-A 3.2, HDMI, headphone jack and a microSD slot. The laptop weighs 2.58lb.

Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro

We will wrap up with a couple of headphones. The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 are down to $100, as they often are. They support Active Noise Cancellation and 360 Audio and Auto Switch, so that they can switch between Galaxy devices automatically.

Samsung Galaxy Buds2

The Sony WH-1000XM4 are down to $250 and are available as a cheaper alternative to the newer XM5 model. They are still very comfy over-the-ear headphones with great ANC, good audio quality and solid battery life.

We may get a commission from qualifying sales.
