On May 20th, according to the latest update on the QCC.com, a company named Beijing Shidai Power Battery Co., Ltd. was quietly established recently, marking another important piece in the new energy vehicle supply chain. The legal representative of the company is Meng Xiangfeng, with a registered capital of 1 billion RMB, focusing on battery manufacturing business scope.
Through the equity penetration analysis of QCC.com, it is not difficult to find that behind this company are luxurious investors including Xiaomi Automobile Technology Co., Ltd., Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL), Beijing Jingneng Technology Co., Ltd. and other industry giants. Previous reports have indicated that this company plans to invest in building a smart battery cell manufacturing plant in Beijing to further enhance its independent research and production capabilities for batteries.
Under the urgent demand for expanding production capacity and improving efficiency, Xiaomi‘s car factory in Beijing has also seen an acceleration in production pace. In order to shorten consumer waiting times and ensure faster delivery speeds, the factory plans to implement a ‘double shift mode’ starting from June, extending daily production time from the original 8 hours to 16 hours. This means that under the double shift system, with full production capacity, monthly output is expected to approach a new high of nearly 20,000 vehicles.
On May 15th, Xiaomi delivered its 10,000th Xiaomi SU7 vehicle successfully to customers. This milestone signifies that it has initially overcome the challenge of ramping up production capacity and officially entered a new phase of fully accelerating production capacity release. According to the delivery period announced on the official website on May 15th, although there are slight differences in delivery times for various models in the Xiaomi SU7 series – SU7 takes between 9-32 weeks; SU7 PRO takes between 30-33 weeks; while SU7 MAX has the longest delivery time at between 33-36 weeks – these data also indirectly reflect the current market situation where Xiaomi cars are selling well and consumers have strong enthusiasm. It also highlights the urgent need for companies to continuously optimize their production processes and increase their production capacities.
