On July 24th, Xiaomi Auto addressed a series of questions from the public via its official Weibo account. The inquiries covered a range of topics, including the company’s overseas sales strategies and vehicle specifications.
One question raised was whether the display of the Xiaomi SU7 in Europe indicated plans for the company to enter overseas markets. Xiaomi Auto clarified that it currently has no immediate plans to sell its vehicles internationally. The SU7 on display was part of a special exhibition in Paris, titled “People-Car-Home Ecosystem,” located in the city’s museum district.
This is not the first time Xiaomi Auto has addressed the topic of international sales. In a Q&A session held in March, the company had already stated that it had no immediate plans for overseas expansion, and encouraged followers to stay tuned for official updates.
Lu Weibing, the President of Xiaomi Group, has previously said that the company aims to rank among the top five global car brands within the next 15 to 20 years. This ambition necessitates an expansion into overseas markets, although a specific timeline for this has yet to be determined. For now, Xiaomi Auto’s primary focus remains on the domestic Chinese market.
Additionally, on July 19th, Xiaomi unveiled the prototype of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. This sparked a wave of inquiries about when the SU7 Ultra would officially debut. In response, Xiaomi Auto announced that the prototype is currently undergoing final preparations in Nurburgring, with an official launch planned for October. Following this, the company is considering showcasing the SU7 Ultra prototype in China. The production version of the SU7 Ultra is anticipated to be introduced to the public next year.
