Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 Introduces Dragon Hinge for Slim Fold and Flagship Power

August 10th news, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 foldable screen smartphone will be released on August 14th during Lei Jun’s annual speech in 2023. Today, the official continues to build anticipation for the new device, stating that it adopts Xiaomi‘s dragon hinge and Lei Jun refers to it as a “revolutionary new design”.

According to the official statement, Xiaomi‘s dragon hinge allows for a combination of thin and foldable design with flagship performance. It adopts an innovative 3-level linkage hinge with 14 movable joints, 198 hinge components, and a hole-less design floating board. This greatly improves the flatness of the screen, reducing its thickness by 8.6% in unfolded form and 12.5% in folded form. The width of the hinge is reduced by 8%, and the space occupied by the hinge area is reduced by 17%.

The preheating poster shows that the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 foldable screen is available in two colors: black and gold. It is equipped with a rectangular camera module, with four rear cameras on the left side and the iconic Leica logo on the right side. The frame adopts a straight design, with a certain curvature at the connection between the frame and the back of the body.

Previously leaked, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 foldable screen smartphone is expected to be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The rear camera setup includes a 3.2X portrait lens and a 5X periscope telephoto lens. It supports 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging, with enhanced communication capabilities. It adopts a new Waterdrop hinge to enhance anti-drop performance while maintaining a slim body.
