A new gaming monitor from Xiaomi is now available to pre-order in China. The device has a Mini LED display for up to 1,000 nits brightness, with a QHD resolution and 180 Hz refresh rate. Other features include dynamic backlighting, a built-in ambient RGB light, and various ports, including DisplayPort and HDMI.
Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Monitor G Pro 27 in China. As its name suggests, the gaming accessory is 27-inch wide, with a QHD (2,560 x 1,440 px) resolution. While the resolution is lower than 4K, the monitor has a 180Hz refresh rate, making it suitable for faster-paced games.
The Redmi Monitor G Pro 27 has a Mini LED panel supporting HDR1000 with 4,608 LED lamps and 1,152 backlight zones. This should deliver a detailed image with a higher contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. The device’s peak brightness is 1,000 nits, and it has a black level brightness of 0.001 nits. You can choose between four brightness levels and set the backlighting to dynamically adapt to the content on the screen. For color, the monitor covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut, 99% of DCI-P3 and 97% of the Adobe RGB space.
The gaming monitor supports AMD FreeSync technology to reduce tearing and flicker and has a 1 ms GtG response time. At the rear of the device is an RGB light to enhance your gaming experience, alongside two DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.0 ports. The thin bezel display sits on an adjustable angle stand, and the screen can be rotated vertically or horizontally. You can pre-order the Xiaomi Redmi Monitor G Pro 27 in China for 2,199 yuan (~$310), making it relatively cheap. It remains to be seen whether the product will roll out to other markets like North America or Europe, and at what price.
