According to Chinese domestic media, Xiaomi will launch two smartphone models with foldable screens next year, one being the large foldable screen MIX Fold 4, and the other, the small foldable screen MIX Flip.
The MIX Flip will Xiaomi‘s first small foldable screen phone, which is expected to be released before the MIX Fold 4, making its debut in the first half of 2024.
So far, the MIX Flip has appeared in the IMEI database, with the model number 2311BPN23C, confirming its debut in China, but it is still uncertain whether it will be available overseas.
The leaked renders show that Xiaomi MIX Flip has two screens, with a centrally located punch-hole on the inner screen and the outer screen sitting below the camera module. The device will be equipped with a Leica triple camera system, expected to cover wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle, and periscope telephoto lenses, and it is anticipated that OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) will also be included.
At present, Samsung, Huawei, OPPO, and Vivo have all adopted the “large fold + small fold” dual-line parallel strategy. With the launch of MIX Fold 4 and MIX Flip, Xiaomi is about to enter the small foldable field, suggesting that the competition in the foldable screen market will be fiercer next year.
