Sixty Vines Invites Guests to Join in Celebrating Sustainability this Earth Month

Eco-friendly wine brand launches tools and experiences to educate and encourage a positive impact on the environment

Sixty Vines Invites Guests to Join in Celebrating Sustainability this Earth MonthDallas, TX  (RestaurantNews.com)  Sixty Vines, the restaurant known for its revolutionary wine on tap program and vineyard-inspired cuisine, is celebrating Earth Month in April with a month-long celebration of sustainability.

Packaging is regularly cited as the top contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, often producing more emissions than grape cultivation and winemaking combined.  Sixty Vines saves over 300,000 bottles, corks, and labels annually from landfills by serving wine in keg.  By choosing wine on tap, guests contribute to a 96% reduction in CO2 footprint compared to bottled wine. Additionally, each steel keg saves 2,340 pounds of trash in its 30 year lifetime.

“We believe in Sixty Vines and the keg program because we are committed to reducing the footprint of our operation,” said Jason Haas, second generation proprietor at Tablas Creek Vineyard. “We have been putting wine in reusable stainless-steel kegs for more than 15 years. We love that you can get great wine that is always fresh and there is zero waste.”

For Earth Month, the brand is launching an online hub with insights about the positive environmental impact of wine on tap. On the ‘Sip Sustainably’ page, guests are encouraged to participate in a digital experience where they can calculate their carbon footprint and make an eco-friendly pledge to reduce emissions.

In addition, throughout April, guests can enjoy a curated wine flight featuring four pours from Sixty Vines’ winery partners most deeply committed to eco-conscious winemaking. The flight menu includes a QR link to videos from each winemaker for guests to discover the story behind the taps. The flight includes:

Cadre ‘Stone Blossom’ Sauvignon Blanc
Tablas Creek ‘Pateline De Tablas Blanc’ White Blend
Margerum M5 Red Blend
Stolpman ‘La Cuadrilla’ Red Blend

Celebrate Sustainability – Earth Day Weekend Events:

Brunch & Learn (Saturday, April 20, 10 am – 1 pm):  Sixty Vines is hosting a brunch event featuring a Sustainability Somm to provide education on the impact on wine-in-kegs. The traveling expert will visit tables to chat with guests about sustainability and answer questions on the impact of the eco-friendly wines.

Local Love Pop-Up Shop (Sunday, April 21, 10 am—1 pm):  The brand will host a pop-up market, featuring local businesses offering a curated collection of eco-conscious gifts and goodies, such as recycled candles, vintage clothing, and eco-friendly jewelry.

Sustainable Sips Wine Social (Monday, April 22, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm): Earth Day celebration featuring complimentary wine tastings from partner winemakers, including those featured in the Earth Month flight, paired with light bites.

Recycling Opportunities & Pledge (Saturday, April 20 – Monday, April 22): Guests are encouraged to bring corks, clothing, and batteries for recycling. Guests who bring in a bag of corks will receive a complimentary 5oz. glass of wine in exchange for their donation. Clothing donations will benefit local charity partners. In addition, guests are invited to pledge their commitment to making the planet a greener place with an interactive art display.
