The office buildings making up the first phase of the city centre £1.5bn Mayfield regeneration scheme will become net zero exemplars under the revised plans.
New plans for the Mayfield neighbourhood highlight the shift towards premium, sustainable office space in the best locations, allowing businesses to adapt their workspace to attract talent and meet the changing needs of staff.
Phase 1 of Mayfield features 320,000 sq ft of office space across two new buildings – The Poulton and The Republic.
Landsec has reworked plans to achieve targets of 600kg CO2 per m2 driven by lower embodied carbon emissions using innovative building techniques and new, lower-impact materials.
As part of the building back greener plan an existing muti-storey car park will be remodelled into a multi-use building with 500 sq m of PV panels. It will also provide one of the city’s biggest, single-site cycle parking sites for over 400 bicycles.
The Mayfield Partnership is a collaboration between Landsec U+I – the regeneration arm of Landsec – Manchester City Council, Transport for Greater Manchester and LCR.
