Aaron Cooper
Synopsis
Starting as a design intern at Nike in 1994, Cooper has worked across various departments at the company, including Nike Basketball, Nike Kids and Nike Athletic Training. During this period, he collaborated with sports stars such as Serena Williams, LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Since 2019, Cooper has been working as an independent innovation consultant; his most recent client being Plaeto, an Indian footwear company, where he joins as its chief product design mentor.
Indian entrepreneurs building products for the US market makes good business sense. An American crafting products for India makes for a good story. That’s the tale Aaron Cooper is trying to spin. After designing shoes at Nike for 25 years, he now wants to make sneakers for an average Indian sneakerhead. “One of my goals is to create something for the Indian market that becomes a pull for the Western sneaker culture,” says the industrial designer
