The Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel played host to Australia’s premier employers on February 29th as they gathered for the Asuria Employer Awards.
Hosted by Asuria, an Australian-owned government services provider, the Employer Awards celebrated businesses fostering diversity and innovation in their workplaces. From established names to ambitious startups, businesses were recognised for their dedication to employment, entrepreneurship, and creating inclusive environments. A panel of experts judged finalists across six categories, selecting the most outstanding examples.

Castings (Local Champion Award)
Castings stands out as a leader in regional recruitment, embodying openness and courage.
The judges praised their inclusive hiring approach and dedication to fostering employee growth. Castings’ commitment to change and patience in navigating challenges earned them high praise as a model of regional business leadership.
Mowing Motivation (Small Business Start-Up Award)
Mowing Motivation earns recognition for its innovative approach to addressing a unique market demand. By catering to vulnerable single women uncomfortable with traditional lawn services, Mowing Motivation showcases excellence in innovation, customer impact, and resilience in the face of adversity.
The judges applauded Mowing Motivation for its innovative response to an unmet need: providing lawn services tailored for vulnerable single women uncomfortable with male presence on their property.
Babana Aboriginal and Tribal Warrior: Maritime Operations Program (Innovative Recruitment Solution Award)
Babana Aboriginal and Tribal Warrior: Maritime Operations Program secures victory for its partnership with Asuria. Through innovative initiatives and unwavering support, Babana Aboriginal and Tribal Warrior demonstrates a commitment to driving employment outcomes and empowering job seekers to reach their full potential.
The judges praised Tribal Warrior/Babana for their close collaboration with Asuria in filling the Maritime Operations Program with job seekers and guiding them through the program. They noted that every aspect of innovation, excitement, and passion was evident in their partnership, aligning perfectly with the award’s purpose.
NRMA Marine (Enterprising at Heart Award)
NRMA Marine stands out for its deep-rooted commitment to inclusion and reconciliation. By aligning its values with those of Asuria, NRMA Marine exemplifies authenticity and bravery in its employment practices, leaving a lasting impact on participants and stakeholders alike. The judges commended NRMA for their profound commitment to inclusion and courage, evident throughout their employment processes and outcomes. They highlighted NRMA’s authentic and culturally meaningful approach to reconciliation in staffing.
Highly Commended: Programmed Skilled Workforce
Programmed Skilled Workforce earns high praise for its collaborative approach in supporting disadvantaged job seekers. With a steadfast dedication to fostering long-term employment opportunities, Programmed Skilled Workforce exemplifies a genuine commitment to making a meaningful impact on individuals and communities.
Michael Betteridge, General Manager of Tourism Development at NRMA Marine, said: “Partnerships are everything, and stories are what humanise what we do.
