US indices settled higher on Monday, with most indices hitting new records, supported by the technology sector.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.50%, or 189 points, to settle at 38,778 points, snapping a four-session losing streak.
The S&P 500 index rose by 0.75%, or 41 points, to 5,473 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index gained 0.95%, or 168 points, to 17,857 points.
As for European markets, the STOXX Europe 600 inched up 0.10% to 511.65 points.
The British FTSE index stabilized at 8,142 points, while the German DAX index rose 0.40% to 18,073 points, and the French CAC 40 index edged up 0.90% to 7,571 points.
The Nikkei index dropped 1.85% to 38,102 points, and the broader Topix index fell 1.70% to 2,700 points.

Brent crude futures for August delivery rose 1.95%, or $1.63, at $84.25 per barrel.
WTI crude for July delivery leapt 2.4%, or $1.88, at $80.33 per barrel.
Regarding gold, futures prices for August delivery fell by 0.9%, or $20.1, to $2,329 per ounce
