Did going public jinx their relationship? Two months after admitting they were dating, BLACKPINK‘s Jisoo, 28, and actor Ahn Bo Hyun, 35, have sadly broken up. YG Entertainment confirmed they have separated, noting “they became increasingly distant due to their busy schedules.”
In August, Dispatch snapped photos of Ahn Bo Hyun driving to Jisoo’s home on several occasions. He appeared to be an attentive boyfriend and brought Jisoo large shopping bags filled with food. After Dispatch‘s report, both stars admitted they were “just getting to know each other.”
Jisoo was the first BLACKPINK member to openly acknowledge her relationship status. Since Jisoo was more popular than Ahn Bo Hyun and the pair did not have any former collaborations, the dating news came as a surprise. While some accused Anh Bo Hyun of dating Jisoo to create more promotion for himself, the actor actually felt the pressure of dating an international superstar. Inevitably, the couple’s pressure increased after their dating status was exposed.
Throughout the summer, Jisoo completed the final leg of BLACKPINK’s Born Pink concert tour. She also entered intense negotiations with YG Entertainment after BLACKPINK’s contract expired. With no signs of slowing down, Jisoo is said to star in upcoming movie Omniscient Reader opposite Lee Min Ho and Ahn Hyo Seop. Prioritizing their work first, Jisoo and Ahn Bo Hyun spent less time together and drifted apart.
