A former assistant manager of the Chicken Inn Pizza Inn joint at the Accra Mall, Collins Acquah, was jailed for five years with hard labor for theft.
According to the facts of the case, Acquah around the Christmas period last year stole about Ghc 19,904 from the company vaults which he had access to.
Acquah following the theft ran to Cape Coast where he went into hiding.
Following his escape, the management of the company contacted the Airport Police who started a manhunt for Acquah.
Following his arrest, he pleaded guilty in court, revealing that he had run into gambling debts which made him steal the money.
The presiding judge convicted Acquah on his own plea to five years in prison, with hard labor.
