For nearly eight years, Indian cinephiles have yearned for Fawad Khan’s return to the Hindi silver screen. The Pakistani heartthrob, known for his captivating charm and impressive acting chops, left a void in Bollywood after his last appearance in 2016 in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. But fret no more, because according to Filmfare, Fawad Khan is poised for a highly anticipated comeback! The publication has revealed that Fawad Khan is reportedly set to star alongside Vaani Kapoor in a new film, marking his much-awaited return to Bollywood.

The report says that sources have confirmed that the film is gearing up for production soon, with London serving as the initial shooting location. While pre-production is locked in, the makers are keeping a tight lid on the rest of the project. This secrecy strategy suggests the producers are aware they have a casting coup on their hands and want to maximize the impact of the announcement.
“Fawad Khan has a massive international pull given his popularity amongst South Asians worldwide. He has also been a part of the Marvel cinematic universe. Details of this project are being kept under wraps and everyone is tight-lipped about it. The producers will announce this project just before it starts its filming schedule in the UK,” informs a trade source tells Bollywood Hungama. This international project is a Hindi language film that will be shot entirely in the UK. The film is being directed by Aarti Bagdi.
This yet-untitled film is Eastwood Studios’ first international collaboration. Eastwood Studios is a film company started by Vivek B Agrawal (ex-Reliance/Phantom) and Devang Dholakia. Vivek has previously produced acclaimed and cult films like Queen, Udta Punjab, Super 30 and Netflix’s first series in India, Sacred Games which became a global blockbuster on the platform.
This rom-com tells the story of how two broken people come together by a stroke of luck and end up helping each other unintentionally.. falling in love is an eventual byproduct of their electric connection. “Vaani Kapoor has been a part of big films and she was the perfect choice for this project, given how she has protected herself from being over-exposed. The makers wanted an incredibly fresh casting where Fawad falls in love with a gorgeous Indian girl and Vaani fit right in,” informs the source.
Fawad Khan’s absence from Bollywood films stemmed from political tensions between India and Pakistan in 2016. On the work front, Fawad Khan has several projects in the pipeline. Starting with ZEE5 and Zindagi’s Barzakh, set for a July 19 release globally. This will be followed by Shandur, apparently set for the SonyLIV platform. He also has Pakistan’s first Netflix project Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo. The actor also is producing and starring in Neelofar with Mahira Khan.
Meanwhile, Vaani Kapoor will be seen in Ajay Devgn starrer Raid 2, Akshay Kumar-led Khel Khel Mein and Mandala Murders.
