Only Murders in the Building Season 4: Everything We Know

Only Murders in the Building Season 4: Everything We Know
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

This story does not contain spoilers for the Only Murders in the Building Season Three finale.

Did you think you’ve seen the last of Loretta Durkin? Think again! Deadline just confirmed that Meryl Streep will return for Season Four of Only Murders in The Building. The news arrived just after the outlet reported that the legendary Molly Shannon will join the new season. Reportedly, she’ll play a “high-powered LA business woman who finds herself drawn into the world of the investigation in NY.” Things are about to get a lot more interesting for our favorite podcasters—which is saying a lot for this crew.

In the season 3 finale, we finally learn who killed Ben Glenroy. Then, another murder mystery occurs. Still, one question has plagued fans: what will become of our dear friends at the Arconia? Apparently, they’re heading to Hollywood! Disney Television Group President, Craig Erwich, confirmed as such in an interview with Deadline.

Aside from that nugget of information, the rest of the season 4 plot is under wraps. While we wait for Only Murders to return, we can relish the fact that the production team is stoked about the next season. Last year, Deadline revealed that Hulu ordered another round of the whodunit mystery. This comes as no surprise, seeing that the series creator, John Hoffman, said he wanted to keep working on the show. When Screen Rant asked how many seasons he’d make, he said, “as many as they’ll have us for.”

The season 3 finale also ends with a major cliffhanger. I don’t want to spoil the big twist, but let’s just say Mable, Charles, and Oliver are in for one hell of a surprise. While we wait for more information about the season, here is everything we know (so far) about the future of Only Murders in the Building.

What Could Happen in Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building?

The finale of Only Murders in the Building Season Three revealed some major secrets. Ben’s murder ended up involving two key players—and in typical Only Murders fashion, the season ended with a major cliffhanger. The episode’s final moments revealed a new mystery for Mable, Charles, and Oliver—and this one hits close to home.

Who Will Appear In Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building?

The core cast should return. Mable, Oliver, and Charles were spared this season, but one of their close friends wasn’t as lucky. If the next season of Only Murders sticks with the show’s tradition, we’ll likely see the podcasters return to the Arconia with a few celebrity guests. (Aside from Streep and Shannon, of course.) Hopefully, given the story’s timeline, some of the cast members from Death Rattle will be roped into the drama, too. Maybe Loretta will bring one of her co-stars along for the ride.

When Will Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building Premiere?

We’ll likely reunite at the Arconia in 2025. Typically, Hulu releases a new season each year, but many production schedules were stalled due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Rest assured—as of last year—television writers struck a deal. According to Deadline, the writers are expected to reconvene soon.
