Virgin River
The upcoming sixth season of Netflix’s hit “Virgin River” will drop back down to ten episodes per season, as will any further seasons moving forward. Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith indicates the series is done with two-episode holiday specials which aired during the fourth and recent fifth season.
It’s also confirmed that half of the scripts for the sixth season were finished when the writer’s went on strike in May. They’re now back at it for the second half. [Source: Deadline]
Dying for Sex
Michelle Williams will star in and produce the FX limited series “Dying For Sex” based on the hit Wondery podcast. Liz Meriwether (“The Dropout”) and Kim Rosenstock (“Only Murders In the Building”) will write and serve as showrunners whilst Leslye Headland (“Star Wars: The Acolyte”) will direct.
Williams plays a woman who is diagnosed with metastatic stage IV breast cancer and leaves her husband of 15 years in an effort to explore what she can romantically in the time she has left. [Source: Deadline]
Griselda
Netflix has released the full trailer for the crime drama miniseries “Griselda” which will premiere on the streamer on January 25th 2024. Ingrid Escajeda and Eric Newman executive produce.
Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Sofia Vergara stars as the infamous real-life Colombian drug lord who controlled Miami’s crime underworld and takes on other mob bosses who underestimated her.
Criminal Record
Apple TV+ released the official trailer for the British thriller series “Criminal Record” with the first two episodes to premiere on January 10th followed by new episodes every Wednesday through February 23rd.
Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo star as two detectives tasked with investigating an old murder case. One tries to protect the past, while the other pushes the envelope and searches for the truth.
