A Mystical Metroidvania
Next year, fans of the Metroidvania genre will be met with an alien experience. Prepare to be whisked away on a colorful, exploration-packed, adventure. Master skills, explore a strange world, and balance the cycle of life and death. Indie developer Hadoque is happy to announce the release date for their upcoming platformer, Ultros, are now available. Releasing for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC on February 13th, the game invites players to a mystical and alien world full of mystery and color. Of course, players can get a better look at the game in the new release date trailer for the game.
Ultros introduces players to The Sarcophagus. Stranding yourself after a crash landing, players find themselves amidst this floating cosmic uterus housing the demon Ultros. Importantly, the entire world of the Sarcophagus exists within a time loop caused by a black hole. As the protagonist players will explore this multi-facted alien world and look for a way to free themselves and break the cycle. Interestingly, you are far from alone. Players will encounter all sorts of denizens of this strange world. Some may be helpful as they unravel the mysteries of this place. However, many of the strange beings here are hostile. Of course, the game allows players to engage in close quarters combat that instills urgency.
Importantly, gamers can get a look at Ultros in the new release date trailer for the game. In addition to showing off the gameplay, the trailer also provides players a glimpse of the game’s use of color. As such, players can get a good sense of how the game uses it’s unique style to direct story. Check it out below.
