Along with a few other newly-announced titles
We thought the June 2024 edition of the Nintendo Direct was an awesome event, and it included plenty of exciting Xbox announcements after the fact, but we were also left a tad disappointed by some of the games skipping our brand.
The big one is the Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection, which was announced for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Steam with a late 2024 release window. There’s no sign of Xbox as things stand, which is definitely a shame.
“Gonna take you for a ride back to the arcades with MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics! 7 legendary games, all in one Super Heroic collection, coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Steam, later in 2024.”
Beyond that, we saw the same thing with Square Enix’s Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven which is coming to Switch, PS4, PS5 and Steam, and it’s a similar situation for Koei Tecmo’s Fairy Tale 2 and Marvelous Inc.’s Farmagia.
It obviously wasn’t all bad news though, as Square Enix announced Fantasian Neo Dimension and a November release date for Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D on Xbox, and Capcom revealed the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection.
We’ll take the positives for sure… but it’s still disappointing to see companies skipping Xbox with certain new releases.
