The flashback starts from when Denji takes her to his house for the first time. Nayuta feels pity for Denji and wonders why she wants to take his heart. She questions her identity and looks into Denji’s mind to find the answer.
She finds out that her old name was Makima. Nayuta discovers that destroying his desire for a normal life will awaken Chainsaw Man, just like her older version wanted.
She decides to offer him a normal life, giving him happiness, only to destroy it in the end. She thinks that awakening Chainsaw Man will help her find who she is.

They live an ordinary life. Nayuta calls Denji an idiot for not thinking about anything. He tells her not to say mean things before bed. She says that he is a student and Chainsaw Man, but she doesn’t know who she is.
He tells her that she is his family. She calls him chessy. A young Denji appears, calling out the present one by saying that he will never have a normal life because he himself threw it away when he chose to become Chainsaw Man.
He reveals that he killed his own father, which shows he can never have a family. Denji opens his eyes from the nightmare to find himself lying in a hospital.
