Jason Kelce chimed in and told Travis that, hopefully, there is a kid out there who doesn’t read and looks up to ESPN, just like him back in the day. The legendary anchors are not with ESPN anymore, and recently, the organization sacked a considerable number of employees.

Disney, which owns ESPN, laid off 7,000 employees across all the platforms. ESPN also took a significant hit after about 20 on-air key talent were laid off in late June. ESPN laid off Jeff Van Gundy, who used to call for the NBA finals in the last two decades. Not only this, but they also fired Mark Jackson.

All these measures come as a contingency plan for cost-cutting and other issues the company is dealing with. Some others who were laid off include Jalen Rose, Suzy Kolber, and Nick Friedell. Suzy Kolber worked for ESPN for 27 years before being laid off. Things must have really become desperate for the broadcasting agencies.
