Police Explains How Nigerian Motorists Can Report Their Stolen Vehicles On Its CMR Portal For Recovery
The Nigerian Police Force has explained how Nigerian motorists can flag their vehicles as stolen after completing the registration of their vehicles with the NPF digitalized Central Motor Registry (CMR).
How To Flag A Stolen Vehicles
Explaining “how to flag a stolen vehicle” on the portal, the NPF urged motorists to
1. Visit the CMRIS portal via https://cmris.npf.gov.ng and login to your profile.
2. Click on the arrow in your profile box to pull down the options
3. Select Requests
4. Click on Flag if Stolen button of the vehicle you want to flag as stolen. This is instantly broadcasted nationwide to alert Police formations to look out for recovery and arrest of culprits.
5. Proceed to the nearest Police Division/Station to report the theft for investigation, recovery and arrest of culprits.
In addition to making it possible to report vehicles stolen, the digitalized CMR also allows motorists to input details of yet-to-be-recovered vehicles for the possible recovery.
Lagos Taskforce Impounds 355 Okadas, Says Okada Riders More Difficult To Arrest Than Armed Robbers
The Lagos State Taskforce has revealed that arresting an okada rider is more difficult to arrest than an armed robber after impounding yet another 355 motorcycles (okadas) during a five hours special operation across the State.
While vowing to eradicate the menace of okada operators on banned routes, the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Shola Jejeloye, highlighted the complexities involved in effecting the arrest of an okada riders, which he said is more difficult than apprehending an armed robber.
His words :
“Arresting an okada rider is more difficult than arresting an armed robber because of the nature of these bikes. Once they sight us they can do and undo by maneuvering and riding against traffic, thereby endangering their lives, that of passengers and other road users”.
LASG Ends 25 Per Cent Discount On Transport Fares On BRT, Blue Line Train On Monday Jan 29th
The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), has announced that fares on regulated public transport in Lagos State will return to normal rate on Monday 29th January 2024.
A statement by LAMATA on Friday 26th titled : “25% fare rebate on transport ends January 28”, which announces the end of the 25 percent rebate reads :
“The 25% rebate on regulated public transport buses, ferry and train ends on Sunday, 28th January 2024. From Monday, 29th January 2024, transport fare on regulated services return to 100%.
“Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had on the 31st of July 2023 announced a 50% rebate as a palliative measure against the effect of fuel subsidy removal and had ran for six months.”
