As Love Island: All Stars continues to creep ever closer to its exciting conclusion, the contestants hoping for a second chance at love were dealt yet another curve ball this week following the arrival of fan favourite Adam Maxted.
The 31 year old star initially appeared in series 2 of the show back in 2016 when he was coupled with with Katie Salmon, but sadly the couple were unable to win the show despite hitting it off while in the villa.
Now, eight years on from his villa debut, Adam has once again returned to the villa in the hopes of seeking a second chance at love – but what exactly happened to him after he left the show?

Who is Adam Maxted?

Adam Maxted is an Irish professional wrestler who discovered his love of the sport after first appearing on Love island back in 2016.
Unlike several of his fellow bombshells, Adam decided to swerve away from fame in pursuit of an athletic career instead and has even competed as a wrestler across the UK and Ireland and even internationally in countries such as France and Pakistan.
Adam is so skilled at his chosen sport, he even currently holds the OTT Tag Team Championship title and even holds the record for longest reigning OTT Gender Neutral with his tenure lasting 560 days.

While appearing on Love Island back in 2016, Adam was coupled up with fellow contestant Katie Salmon for most of his time in the villa – with the couple even making it all the way to the grand final of the show.
Sadly however the couple fell at the final hurdle and placed fourth overall in the competition, having lost out to eventual winners Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey.
Although the pair left the villa together, Adam and Katie soon parted ways after a mere two weeks outside of the competition.

Following what appeared to be a messy split, Adam took to Twitter to brutally write: “It’s like when you’re eating a kebab after a night out & the first few bites taste good but then u realise that it really isn’t nice at all! [sic]”
Katie then fired back: “It’s like getting socks at Christmas. Practical but no fun.”
Despite the tense break-up, Katie later went on to find love elsewhere and is now a proud mother to her two year old daughter Thaiga.

In addition to his short lived romance with Katie, Adam also went on to date Carly Taylor, a dance and fitness instructor from Manchester.
Although it’s unknown how long the relationship lasted, Adam is now currently single and hoping to find love with a second appearance in the Love Island villa.
