Sharon Osbourne is known for her marriage to Black Sabbath’s Ozzy and their MTV reality show The Osbournes.
But away from fame, the TV personality and music manager has faced some serious health conditions and – at one stage – was given just a small chance of survival.
This week, Sharon, 71, entered the Celebrity Big Brother house, but she isn’t just any housemate – she’s a ‘lodger’ – and was joined by other celebs including her old friend Louis Walsh.
After entering the house, Sharon was taken to a ‘secret’ room where she and Louis had to judge the other housemates based on first impressions. In a shocking twist, they had to choose three housemates to face the first eviction – opting for Gary Goldsmith, David Potts and Zeze Milz to face the public vote.

Cancer battle

Sharon has faced serious health challenges and in 2002, when MTV’s The Osbournes was at the height of its fame, she battled bowel cancer. She was given only a one-in-three chance of surviving colon cancer, but despite this, insisted that filming for the second series continued.
Ozzy later confessed that he “fell apart during her treatment. Luckily, after several rounds of chemotherapy, Sharon managed to beat the disease, which had also spread to her lymph nodes.
This experience led her to establish the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. She also fronted a Fashion Targets Breast Cancer campaign in 2013 with her daughter, Kelly.
In 2012, Sharon discovered she carried a gene that could increase her chances of getting breast cancer and so, she decided to have a double mastectomy. In 2020, she shared that since being given the all-clear, she has always tried to make the most of every day. “One of the things I have learned is that I live every day as if it is my last,” she said.
“I don’t save. I do whatever I want to do because I have learned that life is so precious, so short that one day you wake up and boom – it is gone. So I always live every day to the fullest.”

Sharon first met Ozzy when her dad was managing his band, Black Sabbath. They started dating in 1979 after her father kicked Ozzy out of the band.
Sharon then took over as Ozzy’s manager, helped him form a new band, and launched his successful solo career. The couple got married in Maui, Hawaii, in 1982.
However, they renewed their vows in May 2017 after it came out that Ozzy had been having an affair with a hairstylist. They share three children together, however, their eldest daughter, Aimee, prefers to stay out of the spotlight.

Their youngest, Kelly, has had a music career and now works as a TV presenter and judge. Jack, their only son, is a dad to three kids. As she leaves her family to appear on Celebrity Big Brother, Sharon shared the reason she isn’t staying for the full show, which runs for 19 days.
The former X Factor judge explained that it would be too tough to leave her husband Ozzy, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, and the rest of their family. “I don’t want to stay away from Ozzy for too long. We’re so close as a family. I don’t think I have ever gone a week without talking to any of them, ever,” admitted Sharon.
She continued: “Through fights, feuds, everything. We still talk and this will definitely be the longest,” before adding that she doesn’t know how she will ‘cope’ with the distance.

According to Celebrity Net Worth Sharon has a net worth of a whopping £170 million. Together, Sharon and Ozzy are worth a whopping £341 million.
