At approximately 7:50 p.m. on Jan. 25, the male suspect approached an elderly woman in the 3100 block of Carling, ripped her purse from her body and fled on foot. At approximately 11:20 p.m., the victim’s debit cards were fraudulently used in the 3100 block of Strandherd Drive in Barrhaven.

The third victim had no physical injuries, police added.

Meanwhile, the Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigations Unit is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a Feb. 27 assault in the 100 block of Argyle Avenue, not far from Elgin Street in Centretown.

A police news release said the suspect planned on attending the seller’s address to purchase an item that had been listed online for sale, though the seller cancelled that sale after changing their mind.
