Kent, an integrated energy services player backed by Nesma & Partners, has landed a front end engineering design (FEED) contract for a high-pressure, high-temperature (HP/HT) gas production platform in the North Sea off the coast of Denmark.

Following a competitive bid process, Kent is the second contractor to confirm the FEED award for INEOS’ Hejre project. The first was Italy’s Rosetti Marino, which won a deal worth approximately €9 million. At the time, the Italian firm disclosed that one more player got a FEED contract, thus, the works would be undertaken with a dual FEED approach for around ten months.
According to Rosetti Marino, a call for tenders will be launched in the last part of the FEED period to the two FEED contractors for the award of the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) contract, thus, the bidder that presents the most interesting solution from a technical and commercial point of view will be awarded the EPCIC contract.

Kent’s scope of work entails the complete FEED design for the pipeline, tie-in spools, retrofit risers, and subsea power and fibre optics cable. This gas development in Dutch waters is planned as a tie-back to the South Arne field, utilizing the existing Hejre jacket structure.

The company’s involvement with INEOS projects extends beyond Hejre, as the firm is also engaged in study work for the Greensand carbon capture and storage (CCS) project. As a result, Kent sees the latest deal as a reinforcement of its commitment to supporting INEOS Energy Denmark.
Apollo also recently secured a project management consultancy (PMC) contract for the Hejre oil and gas project, which has been under development since the early 2010s. The project entails the development of a greenfield platform, subsea infrastructure, and associated complex brownfield modifications.
