A 39-year-old man has gone missing from a downtown Toronto psychiatric facility.

Toronto Police say Martin Hall was last seen in the area of Queen St. and Ossington Ave. – not far from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health – around 6 p.m. on Friday.

“He was found not criminally responsible for the index offences of assault and carrying concealed weapon, all contrary to the Criminal Code,” police said in a statement released Saturday.

Police did not reveal any details of those offences but said Hall is currently bound by an Ontario Review Board Forensic Detention Order

Hall is described as five-foot-ten, with a heavy build, black hair, and full beard and moustache. He was last seen wearing a flannel shirt, blue jeans, brown sandals and a brown vest.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call police at 416-808-1400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

A 25-year-old man faces charges after he was allegedly caught with child sexual abuse material.

Toronto Police say officers executed a search warrant in the area of Adelaide St. and Parliament Ave. on May 7 as part of an investigation involving the downloading of a quantity of child sexual abuse material from the internet.

“A quantity of child sexual abuse material was found during the search and the investigation continues,” police claim.

As a result, Kyle Norton was arrested on Friday.

The Toronto man is charged with possessing of child pornography and accessing child pornography.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

GUNSHOTS RING OUT IN SEVERAL TORONTO NEIGHBOURHOODS

Bullets flew in several areas of the city’s east end on Friday.

Toronto Police say officers first responded to a shooting in East York – near the Don Valley Parkway and Don Mills Rd. – around 1:30 p.m.

Investigators believe shots were fired from a vehicle that fled the scene.

There were no reported injuries.

Eight hours later, just after 9:30 p.m., gunfire erupted again in the area of Bertrand Ave. and Crockford Blvd. – northeast of Warden and Eglinton Aves. – in Scarborough.

Once again, police believe the shots fired from a vehicle, which then fled the scene.

There were no reported injuries.

About an hour later, around 10:30 p.m., gunshots rang out in Scarborough again – this time in the area of Howden Rd. and Laura Secord Walk., which is southwest of Ellesmere and Birchmount Rds.

There were no reported injuries.

No descriptions of suspect or suspect vehicles have been released.

The investigations are all ongoing.
