Porvorim: State govt introduced the
Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita
(Goa Amendment) Bill, 2024, in the assembly on Monday, to enable govt to decide the quantum of compensation to be awarded to the victim or his dependants who suffered loss or injury as a result of crime and who require rehabilitation.
Chief minister Pramod Sawant
also introduced the Goa Goods and Services Tax (second Amendment) Bill, 2024.
This empowers govt to frame rules and restrictions for distributing the credit of state tax or integrated tax charged on invoices received by input service distributor for prescribing the manner, time and conditions, including the credit of state or integrated tax in respect of services subject to levy of tax under sub-section (3) or sub-section (4) of section 9 of the Goa Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (Goa Act 4 of 2017).

introduced two bills— the Goa
Court Fees Bill
, 2024, and the Goa Succession, Special Notaries and Inventory Proceeding (Amendment) Bill, 2024.
The Goa Court Fees Bill, 2024 is to amend the law relating to the fees payable in courts and at public offices, and certain other fees levied by the state.
The bill does not cover any fees that do not fall under entries 77 and 96 of List I in the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution of India.
The Court Fees Act, 1870, is one of the pre-Independence laws being administered by the Union law ministry. The power to amend the act in its application to the states has been delegated to state govts.
The Goa Succession, Special Notaries and Inventory Proceeding (Amendment) Bill, 2024, introduced in assembly to amend Sections 319 and 346 of the Goa Succession, Special Notaries and Inventory Proceeding Act, 2012, so as to confer adjudicatory powers to the special notary while recording deed of declaration of heirship for collecting additional information from the applicant/interested party and to preserve the documents and application for office record to comply with certain recommendations made by chairman of the Commission of Inquiry,
