The rare diplomatic breakthrough, brokered by Qatar and France, is expected to provide medicine to at least 45 hostages. The United States on Wednesday said it would designate the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen as a terrorist group starting next month. The move comes after the United States launched an attack against the group in retaliation for Houthi strikes on commercial ships in the Red Sea.
