Juventus have been linked with an unexpected transfer interest in Manchester City flop Kalvin Phillips. The midfielder is tipped to leave in January amid being starved of game time with his spot in England’s Euro 2024 squad at stake.
Phillips has started just one of his eight matches all season and has been linked with Newcastle and West Ham. Now, Teamtalk claims Juventus have the pivot on their radar too, and prefer him to Arsenal’s Thomas Partey.
It is thought Phillips’ healthy fitness record despite his lack of game time is attractive to Juventus. Furthermore, Partey could be called up to represent Ghana in January’s Africa Cup of Nations, making him less of an appealing prospect.

Pep Guardiola has refrained from ruling out a winter exit for Phillips, admitting he has failed to get the best out of the 27-year-old. However, the report suggests the player would prefer to stay in the Premier League so may snub any overseas offers. Phillips could initially leave on loan in January ahead of a permanent summer exit.
Meanwhile, speculation from 90min says that City are taking a keen interest in Girona winger Savio. Girona are under the City Football Group umbrella meaning a move would be made easier.
On Tuesday, Premier League clubs voted against a motion to temporarily block loans between clubs with the same owner, meaning a January switch to the Etihad for Girona is a possibility. The Brazilian, 19, has notched four goals and assists apiece in 13 La Liga matches this season.
