Kaizer Chiefs legend and traditional hardman Morgan Gould believes Khama Billiat was a nightmare to play against at his peak.
Gould names Billiat ‘his worst nightmare’
“Billiat at Sundowns… My word! I would fast for Billiat. I used to make sure that I fast because that kid is something else,” said Gou.
“He’s strong, he’s quick, he’s intelligent, he can jump… he had everything, and he was playing for Sundowns at that point, and Sundowns were about to do what they are doing now.
“And they had our father there (Pitso Mosimane).”
“My dad and Pitso. So, my dad was older than Pitso. And Pitso played for the same team that my dad played in in the township.
“So, Pitso knew me and he studied me enough to know that I kick. He had studied me so much that he’d give Billiat information about me yo say, ‘do this, he doesn’t know how to do this.”
“So, I knew from the back of my head that I’ve got Pitso, I’ve got Billiat. He’s already gotten information about me. On his own, he’s a talented player. I’ve already got two people to work against. My work is cut out. So, that whole week, I would fast on something,” added Gould.

Khama is on the sidelines, again
Billiat joined Yadah recently after almost eight months out of football after leaving Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the 2022-23 campaign. His switch to the Harare outfit was a surprise, and he has five outings for the club since joining. However, he’s now picked up a shin injury in a 2-0 defeat to Simba Bhora that will keep him on the sidelines for a couple of weeks.
CONSIDERABLE DEPARTURES AT KAIZER CHIEFS
Several high-profile, experienced stars will likely leave Naturena at the end of 2023-24. Club captain Itumeleng Khune’s situation is well-documented, while top earner Keagan Dolly’s contract expires soon. Khune made his PSL debut for Amakhosi against Jomo Cosmos in August 2007. In the 17 years that have elapsed, he has scooped seven major honours with the Glamour Boys, including three DStv Premiership crowns in 2005, 2013 and 2015. This guy was also PSL Footballer of the Year in 2013. Say what you will, but Khune is a bona fide Amakhosi legend and it’ll be strange adjusting to a Chiefs squad without the man known for his world-famous distribution skills. Stalwart Sifiso Hlanti and former AmaZulu man Siyethemba Sithebe should follow Dolly and Itu out the door.
