How did the couple pull the Koito?

Their big day unfolded on Wednesday, April 3, amidst the backdrop of demanding schedules abroad, making it impossible for them to physically return home.

Undeterred by the geographical distance, Chemutai and Churman ingeniously organized an online Koito ceremony, participating virtually as the festivities unfolded in Uasin Gishu county.

The event garnered attention and admiration, resonating deeply within both the Kenyan and Australian communities.

Sharing snapshots of the occasion, Pastor Joel Kimeto, a prominent Gospel artist, expressed his delight, captioning several photos of the event and highlighting its significance.

“Yesterday, I attended a koito together with the Great Commission Singers in Kerotet Ziwa,” Pastor Kimeto remarked.

Couple represented by friends during the ceremony

“This was a special koito for Audrey Chemutai and Ian Churman, both in Australia they attended via live conference thanks to technology, the event was successful,” he added.

In an exclusive conversation with TUKO.co.ke, Churman expressed his excitement at the successful culmination of their special day.

He also disclosed that they had also arranged an engagement party in Australia.

He elaborated that following the Koito ceremony, both families convened for a vibrant celebration lasting approximately two hours, graced by the presence of four Kalenjin artists.

“We had friends representing us at home, people somehow got confused, but we were both in Australia, I had the governor’s son, Bill , representing me and Sharon representing Audrey,” he said.

Churman and fiance hold another engagement party

Reflecting on the event, Churman remarked,

“It was a really successful event. After that, we had our own engagement party here in Australia to celebrate, We watched here in Australia via Zoom full-time as it happened at home.”

Despite residing in Sydney, the couple ventured to Adelaide, where Chemutai’s parents reside, hosting another memorable five-hour engagement party on Thursday, April 4.

Their commitment to preserving tradition and celebrating their love across borders is a testament to the power of technology in bridging distances and uniting communities worldwide.

Churman proposes to girlfriend after church service

TUKO.co.ke previously reported that Churman left his girlfriend ecstatic after staging the most magical proposal during her visit to him.

He proposed to his girlfriend a few days ago after a church service, leaving her and their close friends in absolute delight.

In a video he shared on TikTok, Churman popped the question to his lover in a beautifully decorated room where the lit-up marry me letters illuminated the entire room with an aura of love and romance completed by the rose petals spread on the floor.

As soon as his girlfriend walked into the room with a big smile plastered on her face, the Uasin Gishu man went down on his knees while unleashing the gorgeous ring.
