Madam Boss Reveals Sponsors Behind Her Glamorous BET Awards Trip
Versatile Zimbabwean social media influencer Madam Boss has revealed who paid for her recent trip to the United States for the 2024 BET Awards in Los Angeles, California.
This comes after fellow South African musician Makhadzi revealed that she borrowed money from a loan shark to finance her own trip to the US for the awards ceremony.

Makhadzi Borrowed From Loan Shark to Finance BET Awards Trip
The Limpopo-born star, who recently won the BET Viewers Choice: Best International Act award, shared with the Podcast and Chill team that she borrowed money from a mashonisa (loan shark) to afford plane tickets and attend the award ceremony.
The “Zwivhuya” hitmaker revealed her financial struggles, including debts to the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
“It is not a secret, I was in the newspapers whatever, I think, last year somewhere. I don’t know who sold me out because I feel like these SARS things—it’s like someone goes to spice you to tarnish you,” she said.

Makhadzi Reveals Financial Struggles
Makhadzi further disclosed that her monthly income primarily goes toward paying off her debt.
“So, I end up not having money for myself. For me to come here I had to go to mashonisa to get a get a loan because this month end, no matter if there is a BET, I have to pay. I had to borrow money to afford business class because besides everything, I must be the superstar that I am,” she explained.

Madam Boss Reveals Sponsors Behind US Trip to Attend BET Awards
In contrast, Madam Boss revealed that her trip to the US was largely funded by the brands she represents. In an interview with ZiFM Stereo after arriving at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, she shared that Scott Kupa’s Roar Entertainment and BET covered the majority of her expenses.
“All the brands. All of them. All the brands that I represent. They chipped in. Vamwe vakandipa mari dzekutenga mundege. But 80% Roar Entertainment and BET. They sponsored everything. I didn’t even take any cent of my pocket (sic),” Madam Boss revealed.
