A fire that started in the laundry of a home in the 100 block of LeMay Crescent on Friday caused an estimated $50,000 in damage to the home.
Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) said in a news release that crews were called to the home around 12 p.m. on Oct. 6, and found heavy smoke coming from the home when they arrived. All incoming fire crews were assigned their tactical duties. An aggressive interior attack was ordered and SFD said the blaze was extinguished by 12:15 p.m. No one was injured.

Fire crews removed the smoke and carbon monoxide from the home before a fire investigator determined that the blaze started by the malfunctioning dryer in the laundry room. Damage is estimated at $50,000.
