A video posted Monday on social media shows the Ukrainian military destroying 10 Russian military vehicles in a single strike.
The video was posted by the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade on Telegram. Reportedly, five Russian BMP-1s, an amphibious infantry fighting vehicle, along with five tanks, were burned in the strike. The 63rd Brigade said that at least one vehicle was a Russian T-90M battle tank.
The Ukrainian defense effort reportedly occurred near Terni in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine. The 63rd Brigade said it destroyed the vehicles “with the help of artillery and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) drops.”

“The 63rd Brigade has destroyed ten units of Russian equipment at once with the assistance of attached units and brothers-in-arms from the 60th Brigade,” the post on Telegram read as translated by the Ukranian media outlet Ukrainska Pravda. “As a result of incredibly accurate artillery shots and drone attacks, five tanks and five infantry fighting vehicles that tried to assault our positions were burned.”
Newsweek reached out to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and the Kremlin via email Monday afternoon for comment.
Video of the strike was also shared by the Ukranian Front blogger account on X, formerly Twitter.

On Monday, figures published by Ukraine’s military reported the largest daily Russian casualty rate since the start of the war, recording more than 1,700 casualties in the previous 24 hours. By Kyiv’s count, Russia also lost more than 30 tanks and 42 armored vehicles in the past day. Newsweek could not independently verify these figures.
Ukraine, which also suffered heavy losses, rarely offers updates on its casualty toll. In late February, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said 31,000 Ukrainian troops had been killed in two years of war. Russia has said Ukraine’s death toll is much higher, saying Kyiv lost 215,000 soldiers in 2023 alone.
Ukraine’s tally of Russian losses often spikes during drawn-out or fierce battles for key settlements, such as fighting for the Donetsk cities of Bakhmut and Avdiivka.
The bulk of Moscow’s efforts in recent months have focused on the east of the country, but on Friday, Ukraine said Russia had launched a new push on northeastern Ukraine’s Kharkiv region.
Kyiv said it was sending more resources to the border region. On Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry said it had claimed a series of villages on the border. Ukrainian officials have said Russian shelling is focused on the border city of Vovchansk, and that roughly 6,000 Kharkiv-area residents have been evacuated.
The northern border of the Kharkiv region is the “most difficult” area of fighting, regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov said on Sunday.
