The picket lines at Windsor Salt are returning after mine workers on Wednesday rejected a tentative deal reached last week.
Mine workers were the first of three groups to vote on the tentative deal reached last Thursday and their rejection of the deal resulted in Unifor Locals 1959 and 240 pausing the contract votes by fine salt and clerical workers.

Unifor Local 240 president Jodi Nesbit said those groups will vote on the proposed deal at another time. No voting date has been set.
Union officials are now trying to figure out the next step forward after the contract rejection.
In the meantime, the strike by the 250 workers that began Feb. 17 will continue.
