The biggest TV shows dominating Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV+, and Max right now

The post-apocalyptic streaming entertainment train just keeps chugging along.

Based on the newest chart data from Reelgood, for example, Prime Video‘s Fallout is once again dominating the latest weekly ranking of TV shows from all the major streamers. If you haven’t checked it out yet for whatever reason, this is Amazon’s mega-popular adaptation of the popular video game franchise in which humans emerge from fallout shelters after a nuclear winter.

It comes amid something of a boom in these kinds of stories depicting the apocalypse across several of the major streaming platforms, from Netflix’s new Korean drama Goodbye Earth, which dramatizes humanity’s reaction to an imminent asteroid strike, as well as Netflix’s alien invasion series 3 Body Problem. For more great examples, you can also go back in time a little more to Apple TV+’s gripping Silo, Netflix’s Leave the World Behind, and Max’s Station Eleven.

Fallout, meanwhile, might actually be my favorite video game adaptation of all time, just squeezing past HBO’s The Last of Us, thanks to the former’s more entertaining vibe. Moreover, Fallout is also once again #1 this week in the US according to the latest data from the streaming search engine Reelgood, which tracks the most popular TV shows across all of the major streamers — from Netflix to Max, Apple TV+, Hulu, Paramount+, Peacock and more.

Reelgood Streaming Charts monitor 20 million viewing decisions each month across every streaming platform in the US. For the 7-day period that ended on May 8, the 10 shows that topped Reelgood’s latest TV chart are as follows:

Fallout (Prime Video)

Baby Reindeer (Netflix)

A Man in Full (Netflix)

The Veil (Hulu)

Under the Bridge (Hulu)

Hacks (Max)

Sugar (Apple TV+)

Shogun (Hulu)

Dead Boy Detectives (Netflix)

Dark Matter (Apple TV+)

As for what other TV shows are dominating the streaming landscape right now, I want to say a word about the pair of Apple TV+ titles on this list — one of which, the new multiverse drama Dark Matter, is already #3 on Apple’s streamer after the release this week of its first two episodes. FlixPatrol was even ranking this one as the #1 TV show worldwide, according to its own data, just 24 hours post-release.

Adapted from Blake Crouch’s novel of the same (a book that kept me hooked from start to finish), the protagonist of this story is a physicist and professor played by Joel Edgerton. One night, while walking home in Chicago, he’s abducted into an alternate timeline. In order to get back to his life, his home, and his true family, he has to defeat a brilliant enemy that knows all the moves he’ll make before he actually makes them: Himself.

Another Apple TV+ that’s still riding high right now (and which has a mind-blowing twist that completely floored me) is Sugar, a detective drama set in Los Angeles and starring Colin Farrell as a private investigator who loves old movies. Whether you like it or can’t stand it because of the nature of the big twist, I can say that Sugar is like nothing else available on streaming right now.
