Chelsea have reportedly earned £5million from Real Madrid due to a clause in Eden Hazard’s contract.
Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the Champions League final at Wembley on Saturday to extend their record tally in the competition to an incredible 15 titles.

Hazard signed for the Spanish giants from Chelsea in a £130million deal in 2019 before he left last summer and then retired in October.
Despite this, ESPN reported two weeks ago that Madrid’s progression to the Champions League final is set to financially aid the Blues.
A performance related add-on that was included in Hazard’s contract ensured Chelsea would pocket £5million if Madrid reached Wembley.
Even though Hazard has retired, it is said that the ‘club-to-club element’ of his contract at Madrid is still active and they must pay the fee to Chelsea.
Whilst the sum may seem small in the current high-fee market, it sees the Blues legend aid his former club once again.
During his seven-year stint, Hazard scored 110 goals and assisted a further 85 in all competitions for Chelsea across 352 appearances.
The Belgian won two Premier League titles, two Europa Leagues, the FA Cup and the League Cup, as well as the club’s Player of the Year award on four occasions.
Hazard is set to return to Stamford Bridge on June 9 for Soccer Aid, with talkSPORT providing all the build-up during the week and regular updates from the charity match.

Chelsea are on course to announce Enzo Maresca as their new head coach after Mauricio Pochettino’s mutual departure last month.
The Italian will arrive at the Blues after winning the Championship in his first season at Leicester.

Madrid’s £5million payment to Chelsea could aid their transfer plans for the summer, although a new arrival may soon join already.
Tosin Adarabioyo is set for a medical with the Blues as he approaches the end of his contract at Fulham.
The centre-back was a top target for Newcastle and Manchester United have also held interest in the 26-year-old.
However, Chelsea appear to have won the race for Adarabioyo as they prepare for pre-season under new boss Maresca.
