Keep up to date with all the latest transfer news, gossip and rumours from Chelsea in talkSPORT’s live blog.

New Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino will have to hit the ground running once the summer window officially opens after inheriting a mess at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea finished a pitiful 12th in the Premier League – their lowest since the 1993/94 season – following a series of errors on and off the pitch.

Pochettino will be keen to bring his own players in to put his stamp on an already oversized squad but equally that may mean several high-profile stars could be on their way out.

  • Chelsea have reportedly enquired about reuniting Harry Kane and Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge.

The Athletic claim contact has been made but the prospect of Daniel Levy dealing with the Blues is seen as near impossible.

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have all also been in touch with Spurs regarding the striker.

  • Kai Havertz is now ‘very close’ to joining Arsenal from Chelsea.

The Gunners have already seen one bid rejected for the Germany international, but there is growing confidence the deal will get done.

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claims that the move is close and will depend on the final offer from Arsenal.

Bayern Munich had been interest but a late hijack of the deal is unlikely.

  • N’Golo Kante is edging closer to completing a move to Saudi Arabia.

The midfielder is out of contract at Chelsea and looks set to leave the club permanently.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano said: “Understand N’Golo Kanté has completed second, final part of medical tests with Al Ittihad yesterday and deal will finally be announced in the next hours after being revealed here two weeks ago.

“Terms have changed as contract will be longer than expected.”

  • Newcastle are weighing up a move for Marc Cucurella.

Cucurella only joined Chelsea from Brighton last summer in a £50million, but could be on the move again already.

The Mirror claim Eddie Howe has added him to his list of targets with a fee of around £30m thought to be enough to secure his signature.

Newcastle sporting director Dan Ashworth was the man who brought him to Brighton from Getafe in the first place.

  • Mateo Kovacic is moving closer to joining Manchester City.

talkSPORT understands that Chelsea are open to selling Kovacic and he has been in talks with Man City over a possible move.

And now ESPN report that the midfielder is on the edge of completing a £34.2million switch to Pep Guardiola’s treble winners.

The Croatian international has one year left on his deal at Stamford Bridge and it seems the club will cash in to then use the funds to help their squad overhaul this summer.

  • Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy are set to be approached by Saudi Arabian clubs.

Both players’ agent Fali Ramadani is expected to bring them a official proposal about a possible to the Middle East, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Negotiations are likely to continued but no decision has been made by either Koulibaly or Mendy yet.

If they are to make the move, they will be joining Chelsea teammate N’Golo Kante who is set to sign for Al-Ittihad.

  • Nicolo Barella could be included in a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku.

Reports in Italy claim that Chelsea may be offered midfielder Barella as part of a swap deal that would see Inter Milan sign Lukaku.

Inter and Chelsea have been in talks over a possible loan for Lukaku as well as Blues defender Kalidou Koulibaly but a move has still not be agreed for either player.

And Corriere Dello Sport claim that the Italian side could now use Barella in negotiations to try and sweeten the deal.

The Italy international may be on his way to the Premier League this summer, having also been linked to Newcastle.

  • Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy believes that Blues fans won’t be worried about Kai Havertz’s potential departure.

Arsenal have seen a first official bid turned down for the German this week but Mikel Arteta is believed to still be keen to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

However, talkSPORT host Cundy believes that the Gunners’ pursuit won’t worry Chelsea fans, with the pundit claiming that £60million would be a good fee.

He said: “I’ve covered pretty much every game Havertz has played for Chelsea, and he’s a curious one.

“Look, he scored the winning goal in the Champions League final, so he can do it, there is no doubting his ability, technically he’s a brilliant footballer.

“But how many times as a Chelsea fan can I look back and go, ‘Kai Havertz today, wow’? Not many.

“He reminds me of Mesut Ozil. He’s got his languid playing style. It doesn’t look like he cares. He’s a stroller around the pitch.

“The thing that would concern me if I was an Arsenal fan is he goes missing. He lacks a bit of heart, a bit of steel, a bit of fight and he can drift out of games very quickly. If you’re in a battle I’m not sure he’s the man you want.

“I think the trial may have finished for Havertz at Chelsea. I think they’ll probably say, ‘We’ve seen enough of this, it hasn’t quite worked, move him on’.

“And I don’t think there are too many Chelsea fans out there who are worried about this move. I think anything over £60m would be a decent fee.”

  • Chelsea youngster Cesare Casadei has been subject of three loan requests from teams in the Championship.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Italian has been attracting interst from the English second tier after his impressive U20 World Cup campaign.

The linked teams are yet to be named but it is likely he will move back out on loan after spending last season with Reading.

  • Chelsea are set to bid for Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga.

Veiga reportedly has a release clause of around £35million and the Blues are now looking at submitting a bid, according to the Guardian.

The midfielder is being targeted as Mauricio Pochettino looks to overhaul his squad this summer.

Although they will face competition from Liverpool and Manchester City for his signature.

  • Chelsea target Federico Valverde has commented on his recent transfer links.

Speaking while on international duty, Real Madrid midfielder Valverde seemed to rule out a possible move to thr Premier League this summer.

He told ESPN: “No, no… I’m at Madrid.

“I’m trying to enjoy every moment and leave my mark on the best club in the world. I want to keep winning titles for Real Madrid fans.”

  • Al Nassr’s president will reportedly visit London to try and sign Hakim Ziyech.

Ziyech is the lastest player to be targeted by Saudi Arabia, with the winger possibly joining fellow Chelsea teammate N’Golo Kante in the Middle East.

According to Mail Sport, Al Nassr’s president is set to travel to the capital in a bid to sign the Moroccan who was close to a move to PSG in January.

He has now been approached by Al Nassr and according to Foot Mercato, he is tempted to make the switch.

  • Brighton believe Moises Caicedo is worth at least as much as Declan Rice, talkSPORT understands.

Chelsea are front-runners to sign Caicedo, but the Ecuadorian does not have a release clause in the contract he signed earlier this year.

West Ham value Rice at £120million and Brighton see Caicedo as being on the same level of ability as the England midfielder.

  • Chelsea are poised to sign Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal, talkSPORT understands.

The Blues are expected to fend off a host of Premier League rivals to make striker Jackson the first signing of the Mauricio Pochettino era.

Jackson has a £30m release clause in his contract and personal terms with the Senegalese International are already in place.

The 21-year-old was close to joining Bournemouth in January but failed medical tests.

  • Arsenal’s opening bid for Chelsea forward Kai Havertz has been rejected.

talkSPORT understands that Arsenal are sent a first official bid to Chelsea for Havertz yesterday afternoon.

However, that has now been rejected by the Blues who have set a £75million asking price for the German.

The Gunners may come back in with a second bid as they hope the Havertz’s refusal to sign a new deal will bring the fee down.

  • talkSPORT’s Jason Cundy has revealed his thoughts on Kai Havertz potentially leaving Chelsea for Arsenal this summer.

The Gunners are locked in negotiations with their London rivals over a move, and Arsenal are preparing to submit an opening offer.

However, after flattering to deceive in west London, Cundy isn’t convinced he would do a job for Mikel Arteta’s men.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “If you’re in a battle, I’m not sure he’s the player you want.

“The thing that would concern me as an Arsenal fan is that he goes missing. He lacks steel, he lacks fight and he drifts out of games very easily.

“But look at [Martin] Odegaard and where he was two years ago, where he was at Real Madrid, so maybe, Arteta thinks he can get the best out of Havertz too.”

  • Chelsea are emerging as late contenders to Tottenham for Brentford’s David Raya, according to The Times.

The Spaniard will leave the Bees this summer, and the club have already signed his replacement; however, they want £40million for Raya, which Spurs aren’t willing to pay.

This could open the door for their London rivals, who are willing to part ways with Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalga this summer.

  • More now on Manchester United preparing a new offer for Chelsea’s Mason Mount.

talkSPORT understands the Red Devils are set to submit a fresh bid worth in excess of £50million after seeing the Blues turn down £40m.

This is still much lower than Chelsea’s £70m valuation, but it could be a step close to Mount leaving Stamford Bridge and moving to Old Trafford.

  • talkSPORT has been told that Arsenal are finally set to submit their opening offer for Kai Havertz after positive talks with the German’s camp.

The Blues want £75million to sell the attacker this summer to help the club fund a spending spree.

However, the Gunners think Havertz’s refusal to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge should help them arrange a better financial deal.

  • Chelsea are expecting Manchester United to submit an improved offer for Mason Mount next week, according to The Times.

They claim the Red Devils are confident they can convince the Blues to lower their demands and sign the England international.

United saw a £40million bid flat out rejected by Chelsea, with the west Londoners looking for £70m.

talkSPORT understands Mount has already agreed personal terms ahead of a summer move away from Stamford Bridge and Chelsea need funds to sign players this summer, with Moises Caicedo their top target.

  • Chelsea have revealed their list of players retained for the 2023/24 season with Tiemoue Bakayoko released.

The midfielder joined the Blues from Monaco back in 2017 but hasn’t made a first team appearance for the west London side since 2018.

During this time he has been on loan spells as Serie A clubs Napoli and Milan as well as a loan back to Monaco, who Chelsea signed him from for £40million.

  • Andriy Shevchenko has faith Mykhaylo Mudryk can still become a success at Chelsea.

“He’s very young, he has a lot of potential in the future,” the AC Milan legend told Goal.

“He’s signed a very long contract with Chelsea, we should see how it’s going at the end of his contract with them.”

  • Denis Zakaria has returned to Juventus after Chelsea reportedly decided not to activate the buy option in his loan deal.

Corriere di Torino via TMW claim the Old Lady are now looking for a new home for the Swiss midfielder.

Zakaria’s loan deal for the Blues carried an option to buy for around £30m but form and fitness meant he made just seven Premier League outings.

  • Manchester City are reportedly on the brink of completing a deal to sign Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

ESPN claim talks between the two clubs have progressed well in recent days.

And now the treble winners are set to spend around £34.2m to bring the Croatian midfielder to the Etihad.

  • Chelsea are stepping up their pursuit of Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Talks between Chelsea and Brighton for Moisés Caicedo will start next week, as the conversation on personal terms is very advanced — close to being agreed as revealed yesterday.

“For sure, Caicedo will leave Brighton this summer.”
