The DH has made a stunning return from the injured list. Even if fans still await a home run, last night brought a shocking turn of events after Harper was seen talking to the police after the game.
The exact timeline and the reality of what happened are still being determined. However, the rumor still needs to churn out wild theories.

Social media has the frightening power to make almost anything go viral, such as with Harper yesterday. A TikTok user uploaded a clip of the ballplayer talking to cops on the street, sparking speculation. He can also be seen talking on the phone as a crowd surrounds him. “Somebody stole Bryce Harper’s car after the game,” says the overlaid text.
Another social media user, an Instagrammer, posted a long video of Harper seemingly distressed. The caption made another claim, stating that the Phillies player’s family had been in an accident. The user alleged that he had left the game in the middle to check if they were alright.
Fans can be seen crowding around him in both videos, taking pictures/ videos of the star player meanwhile. No one seems to have any understanding of the ambiguous situation.

But as it turned out, Tim Kelly of Phillies Nation later cleared up the misunderstanding. Harper’s car had, in fact, not been stolen. No further reasoning was given from either him, the player, or the Phillies. Before the situation was resolved, though, fans couldn’t help but be bemused at the thought of a stolen athlete’s car.

While some were aware of the accident rumors, most understood the situation as vehicle theft. Some fans claimed they had seen a car drive out suspiciously fast before Harper arrived at the parking lot to find his vehicle missing. Many have wondered at the truth of the situation since Citizen’s Bank Park’s tight security would have prevented such a crime. Nevertheless, some Philly fans couldn’t help but apologize for their misled counterparts.

Some who had realized that the news was untrue claimed so. “This actually didn’t happen, just a rumor.”
