England and Australia meet at the Oval on Thursday for the fifth and final Ashes Test of the series, with the visitors’ 2-1 lead meaning they have retained the urn but England can still prevent them from winning the series.
England v Australia odds
Despite having failed to win back the Ashes and trailing in the series, England are favourites to win the fifth and final Test at 11/8. Australia are marginal underdogs at 7/4 to win the series 3-1 while a draw is priced at 11/4 with bet365.

England v Australia predictions
England’s hopes of pulling off an unprecedented comeback from 2-0 down to win the Ashes 3-2 were washed away in Manchester last week as rain prevented a result from being possible at Old Trafford last week.
England had got themselves in a dominant position in the match and few would have betted against them squaring the series up at 2-2 with one match to play were it not for the weather.
The visitors raced into a 2-0 lead after the first two matches at Edgbaston and Lord’s before England kept the series alive with a tightly fought victory at Headingley in the third Test.
England may be unable to win the urn back this year but they can keep hold of their unbeaten series record at home against the Aussies which runs from 2001 with a win at the Oval this weekend.
BACK England captain Ben Stokes to be the player of the match at a boosted 11/1 with bet365
The personal honours of leading run scorer and wicket taker in the series is also up for grabs at the Oval this week.
Zak Crawley’s 189 in the first innings of the fourth Test leaves him top of the tree in run scorers, though the England opener is only eight runs ahead of his opposite number Usman Khawaja for the Baggy Greens.
Khawaja in turn is only 17 runs ahead of England captain Ben Stokes.
BACK England seamer Stuart Broad to be the top first innings bowler at a boosted 7/1 with bet365
Stuart Broad, 37 years young, leads the wicket taking tally for the series with 18, two ahead of Australia captain Pat Cummins, three ahead of Mitchell Starc, and five clear of Josh Hazlewood, both fellow Aussie seamers.
