Former UFC fighter Tyson Pedro is set to be sidelined for a while.
The retired MMA fighter was booked to meet Australian heavyweight champion, Kris Terzievski, for the vacant WBC International Bridgerweight title, in his boxing debut on June 12.

However, Pedro has called off the fight after suffering a grim injury in training.
On Wednesday, the 32-year-old took to social media to share a graphic photo showing his arm bending the wrong way during a boxing sparring session.
“Not the way you want to see your arm going,” Pedro captioned the Instagram post.
“Pretty devastated have to postpone the fight. Lucky it’s not a bad break and should be a quick turnaround. Thanks for the messages. Same mission, different timeline.”
It has since been confirmed that Pedro suffered a fractured elbow, but he is confident that the recovery process will be swift.
“I’m devastated – but I have dealt with injuries before and there’s not much you can do,” Pedro told Wide World Of Sports.
“I’ve been busting my a***, but this is the nature of the fight game. When you are training this hard, you can expect to get these sorts of injuries.
“This feels pretty easy – knowing that it’s bone and not ligaments or tendons because then you know you’re in for the long haul. With bone, you can just give it a bit of time.

“Six weeks, hopefully. It’s still the same mission, just a different timeline.”
Promoter and Australian boxing legend Danny Green was less optimistic about Pedro’s recovery timeline as he suggested the former UFC light-heavyweight needs to go under the knife.

He added: “It’s probably too early to tell [how long he will be sidelined], we only just got the results back this morning. There is the strong possibility of him requiring surgery.”
Pedro put together a 10-5 record before retiring from MMA earlier this year.
The 6ft 3in Australian fighter, who holds wins over Paul Craig and Khalil Rountree Jr., claimed his decision was motivated by family and financial issues.
Once a proper recovery timeline is in place, Pedro’s boxing debut against Terzievski will be rebooked for later this year.
