Midfielder Jordan Henderson has completed a move to Al-Ettifaq, ending a 12-year stay in Merseyside.
The England international has been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Arabian side for several weeks now, and the deal was officially announced on Thursday.
Henderson will work with former Reds teammate Steven Gerrard at his new club, with the ex-England captain having recently taken charge of the Pro League side.
After joining Liverpool from Sunderland back in 2011, Henderson went on to make a total of 492 appearances for the Merseyside outfit across all competitions.
He scored 33 goals during his time with the Reds, as well as providing 61 assists.
Henderson has left Liverpool after 12 years with the club
He has captained the club since the departure of Gerrard back in 2015, and has played a pivotal role during one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.
In total, the 33-year-old has won eight trophies during his time at Anfield, including the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.
Last term the midfielder made 43 appearances across all competitions, including 35 of Liverpool’s 38 Premier League matches.
Henderson’s move to the Middle East will reportedly earn him a huge pay rise, with the Englishman now believed to be earning a figure of around £700,000-per-week.
The ex-Sunderland man is the latest of a number of high-profile stars from across Europe that have made the switch to Saudi Arabia this summer.
N’Golo Kante, Karim Benzema, Edouard Mendy and Ruben Neves are among those to have joined the Pro League during the current transfer window, while Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr back in January.
