Canadian caps remarkable day for Canadian skaters, underscoring their talent and resilience on the ice, resulting in multiple podium finishes and a day to remember for the home country

Hometown hero William Dandjinou continued his red-hot form by grabbing a memorable maiden ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Cup gold medal in Montreal.
The Montreal native, 22, bagged 1,000m bronze in the same city six days earlier and followed it up by climbing to the top of the 1,500m podium on Saturday night.
Dandjinou came flying out of the blocks at the Maurice Richard Arena and just could not be caught as South Korea-s Daeheon Hwang and compatriot Gun Woo Kim claimed silver and bronze.
And there was more home success elsewhere for Canadian ace Jordan Pierre-Gilles, who clinched a dramatic 500m victory over Chinese duo Liu Shaolin and Lin Xiaojun.
Fellow Canadian Steven Dubois was leading the race before calamitously colliding with Liu Shaoang, laying the foundations for Pierre-Gilles, Liu Shaolin and Lin to pounce and propel themselves onto the podium.
In the women-s events, Rikki Doak and Danae Blaiss helped cap an impressive night for home skaters as they clinched gold and bronze in the 500m and 1,500m races, respectively.
Doak, 24, bounced back from missing out on a podium spot last week by capitalising on Dutch star Xandra Velzeboer-s disqualification and being elevated to the gold medal spot.
While for Blaiss, 24, her bronze marked her first individual World Cup medal on a magical day for Canada on the Montreal ice.
