How to watch Guardians games without cable: Full TV schedule, streams for 2024 Opening Day & more

After winning the American League Central title in 2022, the Guardians ended the 2023 season in third place behind the Twins and Tigers. Now, with a new skipper, Cleveland will look to bounce back and re-establish itself as one of the top teams in baseball.

Stephen Vogt will be the Guardians’ new manager after the departure of Terry Francona, who was in the Cleveland dugout for 11 seasons. It is a big transition for Vogt, the 39-year-old former catcher who suited up for six teams during his playing career.

“Within five minutes of our first Zoom call with him, we got the overwhelming feeling that he would make a great manager — five minutes,” Guardians general manager Mike Chernoff said (via ESPN). “Even though he had only coached for one year [2023 with Seattle], he already had a managerial philosophy in place. He walked us through it, and it was obvious that he would be great.

“And every reference call we made, we heard the same thing, like, ‘I only knew him for one year in A-ball, but I knew he would be a great manager.'”

Outside of the manager role, the team avoided arbitration with Shane Bieber, Josh Naylor and Triston McKenzie. The Guardians also traded for Scott Barlow and Estevan Florial, giving them more pitching and hitting depth.

With Tanner Bibee ready for his sophomore season, Bo Naylor looking to become a breakout star and Jose Ramirez consistently performing at an All-Star level, the Guardians are a team that could make some noise in the AL.

How to watch Guardians games without cable

For those without cable, there are several options to stream Guardians games this year.

If you’re in-market, Fubo carries Bally Sports Great Lakes, the Guardians’ RSN, but blackout restrictions apply. If you are within the market for Bally Sports Great Lakes, you can watch Guardians baseball via Fubo. Those out of market will not be able to watch Guardians games on the streaming service, since Fubo will not carry the out-of-market RSN.

Inside market, DirecTV Stream also carries Bally Sports Great Lakes, as well as all of the networks that broadcast games nationally: Fox, ESPN, MLB Network, FS1 and MLB Network. These are all part of the service’s Choice package for $108.99 monthly.

If you live outside the Guardians’ TV market, you can watch games via MLB.tv. For $149.99 for the season or $29.99 per month, you can catch every game from every team outside your local market. You can also pick a single-team option for $129.99 for the season.

Again, this is only if you are outside the Guardians’ TV market. If you are inside the Guardians’ market, games will be blacked out. Games will also be blacked out if you live outside the Guardians’ market but inside the market of teams the Guardians are visiting.

Fubo is also carrying MLB.tv for $29.99 per month on top of the Fubo subscription.

For nationally televised games, there are a few options with some exceptions: Fubo, SlingTV and DirecTV Stream all carry ESPN, MLB Network and FS1. YouTubeTV and Hulu + Live TV carry ESPN and FS1, but they do not carry MLB Network in 2024.

The majority of Guardians games this season will be available on Bally Sports Great Lakes. You can also stream Guardians games live with Fubo, which offers a free trial.

Out-of-market (OOM) viewers will be able to catch a select number of games in March and April.
