The eagerly anticipated rematch between Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall is to take place on April 27 at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, England, according to ESPN’s Mike Coppinger. The fight would air on ESPN+ in the U.S., TSN in Canada, and DAZN outside North America.
In February 2022, Taylor retained his undisputed super lightweight title by scoring a highly controversial 12-round split decision over Catterall in Glasgow. A rematch has been talked about ever since and will reportedly take place again at 140 pounds.
In the first fight, Catterall landed 120 of 525 shots (22.9%), while Taylor landed 73 of 306 shots (23.9%). Catterall landed double-digit shots six times, while Taylor produced five or fewer punches seven times.
Taylor was dropped in the eighth round, and both fighters received point deductions.

Taylor vacated three titles and had to pull out of a planned Catterall rematch in February 2023 after suffering an injury. The Scotsman returned in June 2023, losing the WBO and Ring super lightweight titles to Teofimo Lopez in New York.
Since the Taylor fight, Catterall beat Darragh Foley and Jorge Linares.
The Sporting News will provide updates on this potential fight when possible.
