Predicting which Las Vegas Raiders WRs will make the 53-man roster
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Las Vegas Raiders’ wide receiver corps. is arguably the best unit on the team. Wide receivers coach Edgar Bennett’s group is filled with explosive playmakers and a mixture of young and veteran talent.

With the uncertainty surrounding the quarterback position in Las Vegas, the wide receivers room will have to step up in 2024 and become one of the best in the NFL if the Raiders are going to get the most out of their quarterback.

With the departure of slot receiver Hunter Renfrow and offseason acquisitions by general manager Tom Telesco, Las Vegas’ depth at the position will look a little different this season.

Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers are locked into their spots, but the rest of the spots are wide open. Let’s go through our projections for the Raiders’ wide receivers who will make the 53-man roster out of training camp.

Raiders 53-man prediction at WR

WR1: Davante Adams

Despite subpar quarterback play over the last two seasons, Adams is still one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. The 31-year-old put together another solid campaign in 2023, hauling in 103 catches for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns.

For the sixth consecutive year, the future Hall of Famer posted a PFF receiving grade above 80, and a fourth straight 100-catch season. He’s flown under the radar this offseason, but Adams is still one of the most dominant players in the NFL.

WR2: Jakobi Meyers

Meyers signed a three-year deal with the Raiders last offseason and quietly had an impressive first campaign. The former Patriot had 71 catches for 807 yards and a career-high eight touchdowns.

The 27-year-old also had just four drops on 106 targets and posted a 71.8 receiving grade. Like Adams, Meyers hasn’t been given the credit he deserves for a consistent 2023 season despite a tumultuous quarterback situation.

WR3: Tre Tucker

The 2023 third-round pick saw just 34 targets last season but flashed his big-play ability and versatility. The 23-year-old had three catches over 40 yards during his rookie campaign and also posted 331 yards on 19 catches.

Tucker’s ability to play in the slot and on the outside will be a valuable asset for offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and could propel the Cincinnati product to a breakout sophomore season.

WR4: Michael Gallup

After being released by the Dallas Cowboys, Gallup signed a one-year deal with the Raiders this offseason to provide depth to the wide receiver corps. The 28-year-old hasn’t looked the same since tearing his ACL in January 2022 but could recapture his explosiveness two years removed from the injury.

Gallup hauled in 34 catches for 418 yards and two touchdowns last season and played all of the regular season games for the first time since 2020.

WR5: Jalen Guyton

Guyton has struggled with injuries over the past two campaigns but could be a low-risk, high-reward player for the Raiders this season.

The former Los Angeles Charger has provided value as a deep threat when healthy, averaging 16.4 yards per catch in a two-year span from 2020 to 2021. If he can stay healthy, Las Vegas has an explosive depth piece for cheap.

WR6: DJ Turner

Turner hasn’t registered a catch in his NFL career and has been on and off the practice squad over the past two seasons.

The former undrafted free agent has made his mark on special teams, totaling ten tackles and a forced fumble last season. If Turner can provide some value in the receiving department and continue to be a contributor on special teams, a roster spot should be obtainable.
