Santana delivered the Pirates’ second walk-off home run of the season with a no-doubt two-run blast off the Brewers’ Matt Bush to deliver an 8-7 win on Friday night at PNC Park. Santana danced his way to home plate to cap off the incredible victory.
The Bucs entered the ninth inning trailing by two runs, but they brought the deficit to one when Andrew McCutchen, who hit a home run of his own off the left-field pole earlier in the game, doubled off the left-center-field wall to drive in Ji Hwan Bae.
After Henry Davis grounded out, Santana sent the first pitch he saw from Bush, a high-and-inside fastball, over the right-field wall.
McCutchen and Santana each logged three hits and finished a triple shy of the cycle.
