Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is currently serving his suspension, and the Siya crew finds out how this disciplinary process might effect his future at the club, both on and off the field.
Soccer Laduma had already reported how the Khune camp would be facing a battle with contract talks in light of the recent allegations surrounding his behaviour at the club.

The Siya crew had since revealed how the South African legend would attend counselling, while the club had gone on to officially discuss the disciplinary actions and his suspension, after Soccer Laduma revealed what was happening behind the scenes.
Now, the latest is Siya sources at the club are indicating how these developments could jeopardise the former Bafana Bafana number one’s potential new contract after his current deal expires in June 2024.
“It’s true they gave him a one-year deal at the start of the season but there was a possibility of renewing it for another year but for now it doesn’t look good,” said the Siya source.
“They can’t negotiate with him with the current situation. So his contract negotiation is under threat at the moment,” the source observed.

A second Siya source added that it’s unfortunate Khune finds himself in this situation because he was also earmarked for other positions at the club when he retires from playing.
“It has jeopardised everything for him. His new contract talks. His future with the club in terms of other positions and roles as well. So they have put all those talks on hold. This was the time to start new contract talks but they can’t because he is suspended,” said the second source.
“We don’t know what will happen after the suspension. So let’s wait after January to see what will happen,” the source concluded.
Even though potential talks between Khune and Chiefs may be on hold, it doesn’t mean that the relationship won’t be mended in the near future and the Amakhosi great could still establish a place for himself at the club.
Marketing director Jessica Motaung did indeed hint that the club is still making plans for Khune to have some role off the field.
The Siya crew contacted Chiefs for comment on the latest developments but no response was received while preparing this story.
