England international midfielder Eberechi Eze has turned down the chance to extend his contract at Crystal Palace, TEAMtalk understands.
Eze enjoyed an outstanding campaign for The Eagles which culminated in picking up his first cap for the English national side.
The 25-year-old featured in all 38 Premier League matches for Crystal Palace last season, notching 10 goals and providing four assists along the way.
Eze, who joined from Queens Park Rangers in 2020, has two years left on his current deal and Palace are understandably looking to tie him down to fresh terms.
With Michael Olise courting strong interest from Chelsea and Wilfried Zaha leaving on a free for Galatasaray, securing Eze’s future has assumed greater significance.
However, TEAMtalk has been told that Eze has rejected Palace’s offer of a new deal.
While that doesn’t necessarily mean Eze will be leaving Selhurst Park any time soon, it will alert his potential suitors – including Man Utd.
Indeed, the Red Devils were known to be monitoring Eze in the event their pursuit of Mason Mount fell through.
Erik ten Hag ultimately succeeded in landing the Chelsea talisman, though it’s unlikely United’s interest will have subsided altogether.
In the event Mount doesn’t work out at Old Trafford or Ten Hag reignites United’s interest down the line, a move for Eze now looks more viable than it otherwise would have been.
