The Hammers are keen for the transfer saga to come to a close and there is an understanding at the Emirates that this latest offer will need to be much nearer to what West Ham continue to demand for the 24-year-old, according to the Mail.
Man City have yet to make a formal bid and Mikel Arteta and Co are eager to reach an agreement before the Treble winners become firmly involved.

LIVERPOOL AND VILLA JOIN PSG AND BAYERN IN HUNT FOR ITALY STAR
Juventus have slapped a £52m price-tag on Federico Chiesa.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the Old Lady are unconvinced that the 25-year-old will extend in his deal, which has two years remaining, and are willing to cash in this summer if their valuation is met.
The paper names Liverpool, Bayern Munich and PSG as potential suitors while the Birmingham Mail states that Aston Villa’s interest is concrete, but they are aware Chiesa would take some convincing to join their project.
